Ricardo Baca and Andrew Matranga, The Cannabist Show March 22, 2016

After a truly educational week Spring Interterm session of #CannabisJournalism, I was able to sit in with Ricardo Baca of the Denver Post on his Cannabist Show and talk about my recent experiences teaching this class and about his evolution on the marijuana beat.

With the launch of the documentary Rolling Papers, there was a perfect entry point for the class to wrap their heads around the current events that are shaping Colorado’s culture, policy and position in the world’s greatest social science experiment still in progress.

Cannabis Journalism Professor Andrew Matranga on Denver Post Cannabist Show

Last night, Cannabis Journalism Professor Andrew Matranga was a guest on the Denver Post Cannabist Show with Ricardo Baca, the Post’s Marijuana Editor, and another guest, Julie Berliner of Sweet Grass Kitchen, a company whose products are infused with single strain, full-flower cannabis plant, grown in house to ensure a consistent, safe, and reliable crop-to-table confection.

They spoke about the changing face of legalization and what it’s like to cover and produce in an industry that’s constantly changing. The episode will air in a few weeks.

#CannabisJournalism will be offered again in the winter interterm, which will take place in December at the University of Denver.
